Kristen Kipps, MD

Associate Professor

Kristen Kipps is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine. She is the Director of Patient Safety for the Division of Hospital Medicine and serves as the co-director of the Internal Medicine Residency PQJ Quality Improvement and Patient Safety curriculum. She teaches medical students as one of the course facilitators for the Medicine COBIE (COmpetency-Based Immersion Experience) for Coda, the capstone course for fourth year medical students.

She received her medical degree from the University of California, San Diego and completed internship and residency at Columbia University Medical Center. Prior to joining UCSF, she was on faculty at UCLA where she also completed a fellowship in Medical Education. Her interests include systems improvements, patient safety and teaching medical students and residents.
