Brandon Scott, MD, MBA

Assistant Professor

As a practicing physician interested in healthcare systems improvement, I strive to integrate clinical experience with operational execution to advocate for and pursue a better care delivery experience for patients.

I am an Assistant Clinical Professor and Hospitalist for UCSF's Division of Hospital Medicine responsible for directly caring for hospitalized patients as well as supervising and educating medical trainees.

I serve as UCSF Health's Medical Director for Value Improvement responsible for advising and supporting health system value improvement initiatives, managing efforts related to data and financial analysis on improvement projects, and supporting the UCSF Caring Wisely program.

I also serve as the UCSF Hospital Medicine Division's Value Improvement Director responsible for maintaining oversight and strategic direction of the Division's value-based improvement initiatives and performance metrics including throughput optimization, resource utilization stewardship, and scholarship, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

I completed Internal Medicine Residency at UCSF where I completed the Health Systems and Leadership Pathway. As co-chair of the Internal Medicine Residency Diversity Committee I helped develop the program's inaugural Anti-Racism Curriculum and Symposium.

I have a background in management consulting at Oliver Wyman and completed both my MD and MBA at UCLA. I am a graduate of Yale University where I played Varsity Football.
