Priya A. Prasad, PhD, MPH
Computational & Data Science Specialist
Priya A. Prasad serves as a Computational & Data Science Specialist in the Division of Hospital Medicine. Priya received a PhD in Epidemiology & Translational Science at UCSF, received a Master of Public Health from the University of California at Berkeley, and a BS in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her dissertation focuses on the application of modern causal inference methods to the large and heterogeneous data sets available in healthcare settings in order to provide efficient feedback with the goal of improving the quality of patient care. Prior to joining DHM, Priya was the primary analyst and statistician on a Center for Health Quality and Innovation grant (PI: Nathaniel Gleason), coordinating and analyzing comprehensive clinical and administrative data for all ambulatory care patients at the five UC Health campuses over a 5 year study period. Before entering the UCSF PhD program, Priya served as a Clinical Epidemiology Research Associate at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where her research focused on antibiotic stewardship, infection control, and hospital-acquired infections in pediatrics.
