Mitchell D. Feldman, MD, MPhil. is Professor of Medicine, Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Mentoring and Chief of the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) where he is also the Director of the Mentor Training Program of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). Dr. Feldman’s research has focused on mentoring in academic medicine and on behavioral and psychiatric issues in medical patients. Dr. Feldman has been a Visiting Professor and consultant at numerous universities and organizations in the United States and internationally and was a Fulbright Research Scholar and Visiting Professor at Kyoto University in Japan in 2011-2012. He is the former Co-Editor in Chief of the Journal of General Internal Medicine and the co-editor of the textbook Behavioral Medicine: A Guide for Clinical Practice published by McGraw-Hill.

Dr. Feldman graduated Phi Beta Kappa from The Johns Hopkins University, obtained an MPhil from Cambridge University, England and completed his MD and internal medicine training at the University of California, San Francisco. He has been the recipient of several honors and awards including the Article of the Year Award from Academy Health and the National Award for Innovation in Medical Education from the Society of General Internal Medicine. He is a member of the Academy of Medical Educators at UCSF.
