Excellence, Innovation, and Leadership in Academic Hospital Medicine

The UCSF Division of Hospital Medicine (DHM) has achieved a remarkable number of "firsts" in hospital medicine: coined the term hospitalist, published the first peer-reviewed paper on hospitalists' positive impact on efficiency and quality, hosted the first hospital medicine CME course and the first Hospitalist Mini-College, and launched the first hospital medicine fellowship, among others.
