Noelle Chun comes to UCSF with a background in journalism. Before this, she worked with Newsweek.com, where she authored the website’s lead story after the Virginia Tech shootings, covered the health beat, and produced audio and video with the Emmy-nominated multimedia team. Aside from Newsweek International and Newsweek.com, she has written for such publications as VentureBeat, Honolulu magazine, and the Honolulu Advertiser. Noelle also worked for venture capitalist Guy Kawasaki, helping launch his two most recent enterprises, Truemors.com and Alltop.com; before the site was successfully sold, she was Truemors.com’s first writer and continues to help aggregate content for Alltop in her free time. At the project, she is an assistant editor for AHRQ WebM&M and AHRQ Patient Safety Network (PSNet), where she edits articles and produces the monthly podcast. Her side interests include innovating journalism for a new digital age. She believes every day is a journey, especially from her home in the South Bay to her desk in foggy Parnassus. She has a degree in journalism and history from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
