Erin Hartman is Project Director and Editorial Director of AHRQ Patient Safety Network (PSNet), a large-scale federal project on patient safety, medical errors, and health care quality. Prior to joining the Division, she was Managing Editor of the groundbreaking Clinical Crossroads section in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), a series that each month covers a different medical topic in depth. To date, she has edited more than 700 articles published in the medical literature. With that experience, she has lectured on medical writing to physicians and medical students nationwide. She received a BA in Linguistics from the University of Michigan with High Honors and High Distinction (magna cum laude) and an MS in Mass Communication from Boston University.
