Quinn Cheng, MD Medical Director of Medicine Consultation Service

The Medicine Consultation Service evaluates and treats medical problems in patients hospitalized on non-Medicine services. The MCS is available 24 hours a day at Moffitt-Long Hospital and Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute to assist with: 1.) Acute medical problems, e.g. respiratory distress, delirium, electrolyte disorders, venous thromboembolism; 2.) Chronic medical problems, e.g. cardiopulmonary disease, diabetes, polypharmacy; 3.) Preoperative medical evaluation and postoperative medical management for hospitalized patients

Patients will be evaluated and followed by a hospitalist attending physician. The attending physician also supervises a Medicine resident who receives a curriculum on medical consultation and perioperative medicine.
